Greater Valley YMCA Hosts Roundtable with U.S. Rep. Susan Wild and Community Leaders

The Greater Valley YMCA hosted a roundtable discussion with community leaders on Sept. 27 to address child care workforce solutions, federal funding and their proposed new Saucon Creek Branch. U.S. Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA) helped to secure $3 million through the Community Project Funding process towards the development of the proposed Saucon Creek YMCA Branch.

The roundtable created the opportunity to discuss the positive impact the proposed Greater Valley YMCA Saucon Creek Branch would have in the Southern Lehigh community by providing jobs, affordable child care, youth and teen programs, health and wellness center, a community center for area schools and organizations to utilize, an aquatics center, senior programs and activities to address physical and mental wellness, and collaborative partnerships and programs to address social issues.

Congratulations to CEO David Fagerstrom and his team at the Greater Valley Y for prioritizing their relationship with Congresswoman Wild. The Alliance strongly encourages ALL Ys to follow suit at both the federal and state levels.
